Walker County Announces Success of Recycling Day

Thank you to everyone who participated in our free recycling day event. 1.06 tons of recyclables were collected on December 26 and kept out of the landfill!
While we use this event to promote recycling each year, the landfill regularly accepts reusable material like cans, paper milk/juice cartons, paper, cardboard boxes, greeting cards and many plastics for free. So, if you missed Saturday’s event, drop by sometime soon.
Also, natural / organic Christmas trees will continue to be accepted for free through December 31, provided they do not contain any lights or decorations.
