Our Summer Combine series with the guys at NWGA football is officially underway. We have visited Dade County, Gordon Lee, and Chattooga High Schools thus far. Today we are going to take a look at the top performers from our visit to Gordon Lee High School in Chickamauga, Georgia.
Top Laser 40 Yard Dash
Peyton Groce (‘26 DB/RB/ATH)
Out of 114 players that have tested so far, the ‘26 ATH has put tied for the best time at 4.56, 1 of only 3 players to break 4.6 on the laser. Groce was a 1st Team All 6-3A DB last season as a sophomore after tying for the team lead in tackles with 67. He added 535 yards on 88 touches on the offensive side of the ball last year for the Trojans. HUDL
Top 3 Cone
Brayden Stoker (‘27 WR/RB)
This drill, also known as the 5-10-5 , tests a player’s change of direction and agility. Rising Soph 6’2 185 Brayden Stoker (‘27 WR/RB) put up the top overall time for the Trojans and has a Top 5 time among the 114 participants. Tall athletic frame who has already received attention from UK and Ole Miss after a successful freshman season where he put up 1100 total yards with 11 TDs. HUDL
Top Broad Jump
Bryson Johnson (‘25 K/P)
Your team is probably in pretty good shape if you have a kid as athletic as Johnson at K/P. Johnson jumped a team high 9’7, which ties him for the lead among the 114 participants. He also finished 4th on the team in the 3 Cone and was 8th overall in the 40 yard dash. Not your stereotypical kicker.
Other Notables:
Landon Norton (‘26 WR/DB)
40: #2
3-Cone: #4
Broad Jump: #2
Norton was maybe my find of the combine. Very good athlete with good size at 6’1 190, impressive film. Had 40 TT with an INT last season. Recorded a season high 6 TT vs Lumpkin Co in the playoffs. HUDL
Brisyn Oliver (‘26 RB/DB)
40: #4
3-Cone: #10
Broad Jump: #5
Productive 2 way player for the Trojans last Fall. He had 80 touches for 377 yards and 2 TDs of the offensive side of the ball and had 47 TT with 1 TFL on defense.
Luke Teeters (‘27 QB/DB)
40: #7
3-Cone: #2
Broad Jump: #2
The rising Soph had limited action last year at the varsity level, 3 catches for 40 yards and was 3 of 4 passing for 30 yards, but shows all the promise of being a big contributor for the Trojans in the future. A gym rat that has a 245 PC at a 150 body weight. Was 2nd in the Region this year in the 100m with a PR of 11.18. Bright Future.
Gabe Daugherty (‘25 DL)
Daugherty didn’t compete in the 3 cone or the broadjump but he did put up an impressive 40 time on the laser at 4.93, one of the only 210+ plus guys to break the 5.0 mark this week. Was 1st Team All Region last season and led the team with 4 sacks.
Jonah Davenport (‘25 HB/DL/LS)
The 250 pound lineman tested out well in the 40 recording a 5.34 which is best among the 250+ guys on the week and also recorded a respectable 7’11 broad jump. What impressed me was his competitiveness.
