
Cherokee Regional Library System Awarded Library of the Year!

Big news today for our local libraries. The Cherokee Regional Library System, with branches in Chickamauga, LaFayette, Rossville and Dade County, has been awarded Library of the Year! Congratulations to the nearly 30 team members who worked tirelessly to meet the needs of the community before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Art Made By Patrons During Art Classes To Be Installed In Library

Attention all artists, and artists-at-heart! We have an exciting opportunity for you this February! Our library is hosting several 3-hour art classes throughout the month for artists aged 10 and up! Space is limited, so registration is required! Please note that masks are required for this program.
Paper Collage with Anna Carl
Design and create individual collage pieces. These compositions will be joined with their neighbors’ artwork to form a large weaving or a series of weavings, that will be installed in our library.

Silk Painting with Claire Vassort
Design and paint banners that will be displayed at the library in a colorful ceiling installation at the end of the project. Teams of two will collaborate, create, and add their piece to these unique puzzles.

LaFayette-Walker County Library Hosts Raffle for New Oven

Does your kitchen need a Christmas present this year? The Friends of the Library Oven Raffle continues through Friday morning (12/18/20) at 10am. Tickets (1 for $5; 3 for $10; 7 for $20) can still be purchased at the La Fayette-Walker County Library’s circulation desk with all proceeds going to support Library programming needs. The drawing for the oven (provided by our friends at Roper Corp.) will take place at 12 noon live from the Walker County Ag Center. You still have time!!
